Buds are swelling, birds are singing, and book events are popping up like daffodils … Here are some upcoming dates if you find yourself on this side of the Atlantic:
NOW to 23 March – Exhibition of ‘making of’ artwork at Jam Bookshop, 21a Hackney Rd, London
A lot of the artwork from my show at The Polar Museum last summer, presented in a wonderful artisan bookshop specialising in carefully curated fiction and comics.
Wednesday, 8 March – Livestream event with Ink@84 Books
20:00 GMT/15:00 EST/12:00 PST/09:00 NZDT (9 March)
Accessible globally, just sign up via the website linked above and tune in. If you can’t make it live, then sign up anyway and you’ll get access to the recording. Interview with the artist (sadly the author cannot attend) demonstration of what goes into making a graphic novel, and Q&A.
Thursday, 23 March – Signing at Jam Bookshop, 18:00 GMT, 21a Hackney Rd, London
I will be there! In person! To sign your book! You are welcome to bring a pre-loved copy, but if you haven’t bought one already, please support Jam and buy one there.
Saturday, 13 May – Lecture and Drawing Workshop at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich
I will give a rundown of the Terra Nova Expedition and the making of the graphic novel, followed by a workshop in which we learn to do observational sketches like an old-fashioned explorer.
