Merch!

I have put together a couple of Worst-Journey-themed designs for Midwinter Cards – because Midwinter is in June in Antarctica, they can’t really be Christmas cards.

A Christmas card with an illustration of the Cape Evans hut at midwinter, under Mt Erebus, with the first verse of Christina Rossetti’s ‘In the bleak midwinter’ superimposed on it, looking like a prayer card.
A colour, cartoon version of Herbert Ponting’s photograph of the Midwinter Tree at Cape Evans in June of 1911, improvised by Birdie Bowers and presented at the feast.

I am currently taking pre-orders in my Ko-Fi Shop, where you can check out the designs in a little more depth, and add your name and quantity to the order list, to make sure I get enough printed to make everyone happy. I press the big red PRINT button on the morning of 15 Oct (UK time), so get in before then if you want to be counted.

I am also selling some Scott Centenary merch to help fund the digitisation of the archives at the Scott Polar Research Institute!

Everything shall be shipped the first week of November, so order now to get it for the boreal midwinter holiday of your choice! (Or be really early for Austral midwinter. It never hurts to be prepared.)
